Kåre Nordstoga har vært domorganist i Oslo gjennom et langt yrkesliv (1985-2025), og med turnévirksomhet over hele Europa. Nordstoga er mottaker av Lindemann-prisen, Oslo Kommunes Kulturpris og St Olavs Orden. Han har gitt ut en lang rekke CD-er, og mange av dem står som referanseinnspillinger for et intenasjonalt fagdelt. To ganger har han blitt nominert til Spellemannprisen, og for tiden er han i ferd med å fullføre sin innspilling av Bachs samlede orgelverker på historiske orgler i Europa for selskapet Lawo. I 2018 ble hans innspilling av Widors 5. orgelsymfoni fra katedralen i Caen, kåret av BBC Radio 3 til beste innspilling av dette verket.
Kåre Nordstoga has served as cathedral organist in Oslo throughout a long career (1985–2025), with concert tours across Europe. Nordstoga is a recipient of the Lindemann Prize, Oslo Municipality’s Cultural Award, and the Order of St. Olav.
He has released numerous CDs, many of which are considered reference recordings in the international field. He has been nominated twice for the Norwegian Grammy Award (Spellemannprisen) and is currently completing a recording of Bach’s complete organ works on historic European organs for the Lawo label. In 2018, his recording of Widor’s 5th Organ Symphony from Caen Cathedral was named best recording of the work by BBC Radio 3.
